What is new.space?
  • Every visit to new.space creates a new shared space – which is a kinda like a folder in other products – where you can collect and send any type of content.
  • You can add links to articles, photos from a recent trip, or documents to discuss in your next meeting – a space can contain any type of content. Plus, everything added to a space is end-to-end encrypted. Only people given a link to the space can access its contents.
How do I create a new shared space? Do I need an account?
  • Open a new browser tab and visit new.space to get a fresh space. No signup or account required.
  • You can add links to articles, photos from a recent trip, or documents to discuss in your next meeting – a space can contain any type of content. Plus, everything added to a space is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see the content you are sharing.
How do I report a problem with new.space?

Where can I learn how to use new.space?
What if I don't want a space to auto-cleanup or expire? Is there any way to stop it?
  • Auto-cleanup is on by default today. Soon, we will be rolling out a new feature where you will be able to adjust a space’s default settings and keep them around longer.

How do I share a space?
  • Press “Copy link” and the space’s URL will be added to your clipboard.
  • You can also copy the URL from your address bar – it has all the information needed to give access to someone else.
  • You can also scan the QR code in the space to open it on another device.
What types of content can I share in a space?
You can add links to articles, photos from a recent trip, or documents to discuss in your next meeting – a space can contain any type of content. Plus, everything added to a space is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see the content you are sharing.
How do I download content from a space?
  • There are three ways to download content:
  • Choose Download when viewing an item
  • Choose “Download all”
  • Select the items you want to download, then choose “Download”
How do I share one piece of content from a space? Can I share one item from a space?
You can copy the URL to directly link (or deep link) to an item in a space. Anyone with a direct link to an item in a space will have access to every item in the space. All sharable links include the information necessary to join and access the entire space.
How do I delete content from a space?
  • Enter selection mode, choose the items to delete, then choose “Delete”
Who has access to a space? Who can access my shared content?
Anyone with the link URL or QR code will have read and write access to the space. All members can add and remove content, react with emojis, and delete the space.
Can I allow read-only access to a space? Can I restrict access by email address?
  • We are working on more access controls for spaces during our public beta period. Expect to hear more about this in the future.

How do I rename content in my space?
  • We are working to support renaming content in spaces. Expect to hear more about this in the future.

What are the limits for a space? Is there a file size limit for spaces?
  • A space can have unlimited members.
  • A space can store up to 1GB of file storage.
  • Each file can be up to 200MB in size.
Is new.space free? How much does new.space cost? How can you afford to offer new.space for free?
  • All the features in the current public beta version of new.space are free. We are working quickly to launch more features to enhance the new.space experience, some of which will be paid features.
  • We are also continually optimizing how we store content, monitoring limits on free spaces, and more so we can continue to be generous without breaking the bank. This is top of mind for us. We are building a sustainable business.
  • During our beta period we want to hear from you: is our free offering enough for your use cases? What is one thing you would pay for if we could add it tomorrow?

Which languages does new.space support?
new.space’s marketing content and user interface use English. Content shared into a space can be named and have contents using any language or alphabet supported by unicode.
Is there an iOS or Android app?
  • We are working on an iOS app that we’ll be rolling out to our community members soon.

Which browsers are supported by new.space?
  • We test and support the latest 2 versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox.
  • We test and support private/incognito browsing modes of the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, and Safari. We plan to support private mode in Firefox in the future.
  • new.space is a progressive web app built with web standards. It should work well in any modern browser similar to Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Can I report content on new.space?
If you find content which you think shouldn’t be on new.space, and violates our Terms of Service, you can report the space by navigating to the in-app menu, and selecting Report this Space. Fill out the form to let us know, and we’ll take steps to address the issue.
